The new KW Revolution filters from KASE introduce some firsts to the world of round magnetic filters:
WHAT NEWS DO THE KASE KW REVOLUTION BRING US?
These new filters mainly bring us the following news:
- Use of internal threaded rings: Now we can dispense with the common threaded adapters and use a thin ring that we will thread on our lens, forgetting about it since it will allow us to continue using our lens as we have always done, we can continue putting the lens cover or the sunshade without any problem.
- Possibility of threading filters: Thanks to the new structure of the filter it is possible to thread threaded filters on the KW Revolution filters, this allows us to use old filters or threaded filters such as Mist, Night, etc.
- Colored outer ring: Depending on the density of the filter, it will have one color or another, so we can easily distinguish what density we have stored in the bag or placed on our lens.
HOW DO I SELECT THE SIZE OF THE KASE KW REVOLUTION MAGNETIC FILTER?
The new KW Revolution series, in order to offer certain properties, such as the use of internal rings, have a "wider" frame than Wolverine filters, this means that with angular lenses if we want to use 3 filters we have vignetting, which is why we recommend the use of the KW Revolution filters with non-angular lenses to be able to take advantage of their full potential using the internal rings, if you want to use them with angular lenses, a maximum of 2 filters can be used and maybe only 1 on very angular lenses. In the following table we are going to put the lenses that are being tested.
LENS | THREAD LENS | MAX. STACKED FILTERS |
---|---|---|
Sony FE 16-35 mm F2.8 G | 82mm | 1 |
Meike 10mm F2.0 aps-c | 77mm | 2 |
Sony FE 24-105 f4 G OSS | 77mm | 1 (some vignetting) |
